The third of my Wave inspired works, “Kai” is a larger piece but similar to “Hawewe.”
“Kai” has blue and green marbles and blue/green painted panels - and evokes the shape of the perfect surf wave.
My recent trip to Maui Hawaii inspires this piece - and here is a picture of me doing first hand wave sculpture research. My surfing instructor was a Maui native and his name was Kai, which means wave. And so it is.
